About Geko Motors

The man behind the spanner

Amir Iqbal — ATA-accredited technician & MOT tester

Amir has spent more than 20 years working on vehicles — beginning in main-dealer workshops where he gained the breadth of technical training that underpins everything he does at Geko Motors today. That grounding means he approaches every car, regardless of make or age, with the same disciplined, methodical care you would expect from a franchise garage — at an independent price.

His ATA (Automotive Technician Accreditation) and MOT tester status are not background detail — they reflect a genuine commitment to keeping his knowledge current and his diagnostic decisions accurate. When Amir tells you what your car needs, it is because it genuinely needs it. When he says it does not, he means that too. That transparency is what keeps customers coming back year after year, and it is the reason Geko Motors has earned a 5-star rating across 169 independent reviews.

The workshop's specialisms reflect where real-world faults tend to cluster: engine diagnostics, brake systems, DPF cleaning and regeneration, and vehicle electrics. These are disciplines that reward deep experience over guesswork — and after two decades behind the scanner, Amir has developed the pattern recognition to find faults quickly and fix them correctly the first time.
